Date Available: 08/09/2022 # opening: 1 Location: Quantico, VA. S2Technologies is sourcing for Cybersecurity professionals with strong operational Information Assurance experience. Individuals will be responsible for assisting HQMC DCI IC4 ICC-Cybersecurity (CY) in the system security engineering review process, to include cyber security assessments, security test and evaluation (ST&E) review, establishing, updating system security test methodologies and reporting, oversight and direction of internal staff assistance ST&E.
Operational CY Assessment Teams
Regional teams will assess centralized and distributed MCEN networks. These teams will perform scheduled system security assessments of Marine Corps systems world-wide. Teams will also support the internal system security self-assessments completed by the regional CY staff on systems to which they have oversight and responsibility. Each regional team will directly support the MCEN Enterprise Approving Official (AO) in meeting the Marine Corps goals by performing system security evaluations for secure operation of IT Systems across the MCEN, using Marine Corps and DoD approved security tools and methodologies.
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide periodic, recurring remediation efforts for all organizations within the Regional Area of Responsibility (AOR) and provide recommendations. AOR includes support for deploying forces as an integrated element of pre-deployment workups and exercises.
Provide the capability to conduct Wireless, Windows, Unix, Linux, Database, Application, and Infrastructure security assessments in accordance with the DISA STIGs, DoD and USMC guidance.
Experience with vulnerability/risk analysis including McAfee/Trellix, ACAS/Nessus, HBSS, Nmap, and other assessment tools.
Knowledge of System Administration processes and tools.
Responsible for providing advice and expertise in cyber security designs, implementation, vulnerability identification, mitigation techniques and procedures that will aid the customer in securing critical infrastructure systems against current and emerging threats.
Implement a periodic vulnerability scanning process that uses the Marine Corps IA workforce to ensure that all systems are maintained in compliance with required patch levels and secure configuration policies (protection against security degradation).
Provide recommendations of threat and vulnerability mitigation; conducted by means of architecture review, documentation review, security scanning, scanning results review, and configuration verification.
Analyze and assess system implementation against multiple security compliance policies and recommend implementing enhancements,
Strong working knowledge of networking and router technologies, as well as network security issues,
Experience analyzing and communicating network security issues to peers and management.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Desired Experience and Education
3 years conducting DoD network assessments
Experience using and analyzing results of security, system auditing and hacking tools.
