Job Summary: The SQL Server Database Administrator will maintain SQL Server databases by planning and monitoring.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate the resolution of technical issues arising within the Development environment by working cooperatively with customers and other contractors.
Manage the databases for SQL Development and Test Servers. The Development and Test Environments consists of both web applications and database servers.
The Contractor shall provide the following services:
Database administration and database server farm and cluster maintenance support for no more than forty (80) SQL Servers
Be responsible for the management of access and permissions on the servers
Be responsible for the Installation and updating of front-end application software including security patches that uses database backend.
Be responsible for the upgrading SQL Servers in the Development, Staging and Production environment. The contractor is responsible for the patching of SQL environment with latest security as well as service packs from Microsoft.
Provide Tier 1 problem resolution on the accountable servers.
• Responsible to build databases and application virtual hard disks
• Assist IT Operations with the infrastructure planning and design for the Microsoft Application Virtualization and Microsoft® SQL Server® database servers
• Migrate all web applications such as Remedy, X-Rite and BlackBerry to new SQL Server Cluster environments at both ECF and WCF facilities.
• The contractor shall Install, configure, and manage SQL Server environment following Federal Information Management Security Management Act (FISMA).
Support database upgrades by maintaining, evaluating, and improving a transaction processing model
Answer user questions and monitor database performance
Evaluating and resolving DB processing and programming problems
Secure database by preparing access and control policies and procedures
Implements disaster recovery procedures
Involved in tasks related to training users in database use
Requirements: (Clearance/Citizenship)
Treasury clearance preferred
Successful completion of HSPD-12 PIV process and BEP background check
2-4 years of related database experience
Experience maintaining databases in a production environment
Experience:
Hands on experience with SQL Server Database 2008, 2012, 2016
Certification specializing in various database management systems Preferred
Design database management tools
Assesses database performance by developing a protocol for measurement of results and identification of problem areas
Experience in improving database performance
Education:
A bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science
