SharePoint/Project Server Administrator Position Description

S2Technologies is currently sourcing for qualified candidates to join our team. We are currently looking for candidates having training and experience performing as anSharePoint Administrator with Microsoft Project Server implementation and administration experinece to support leading-edge project server capabilities for a large public agency. The administrator will support Microsoft Project Server On-Premises, virtual cloud-based infrastructures, and Project Online deployments. The project server administrator will develop and manage highly optimized Project Server configurations within SharePoint and Project Server environments. Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written). The qualified candidate shall perform the following tasks:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Project Server/PWA and Project Professional installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and use;
Knowledge of project management best practices
Hands-on experience in deploying, customizing, maintaining and supporting Project Server/PWA environments;
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting Project Server/Professional issues to support all levels of end users;
Proficient with Microsoft Project Professional/Server and SharePoint (Project – SharePoint integration);
A thorough understanding of Microsoft Project client/server integration;
Experience building reports and/or dashboards.
Self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision and can learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Experience implementing Project Server technology
Experience creating applications and add-ins for SharePoint/Project Server 2010/2013
2+ years of hands-on experience in working with the Microsoft BI Stack (Excel, Excel Services, Power Pivot, Power View, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS)
Experience building reports and/or dashboards for SharePoint/Project Server 2010/2013
Requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with personnel at all levels, both one on one and in groups. This includes team members as well as with our business users.
Requires a proven ability to coordinate with team members, project members, customers, users, and other stakeholders to successfully develop, conduct, and implement software solutions.
Requires the flexibility to adapt to new tools and technologies. Candidates must be self-starters who have a proven ability to work independently.
Candidate should have: Excellent analytical skills, ability to handle multiple conflicting priorities, ability to meet tight fluid deadlines, and be goal driven.
Administration of MS Project Server technologies.
Configure and maintain Microsoft Project Server; ensure synchronization with SharePoint server
Maintain Project Web App Settings, e.g. Personal, Enterprise, Queue and Database Administration, Workflow and Task Management, etc.
Manage connected SharePoint sites in Project Server
Extend the out-of-the-box functionality of SharePoint and Project Server to meet customer needs.
Lead the effort to migrate from an on prem environment to online
Fulfill requests for Business Intelligence (BI) development via tools such as Microsoft Excel Services, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and PowerBI.
Prepare technical documentation for the transition of solutions to Operations & Maintenance, and support the development of training materials.
Facilitate meetings, & conduct client/user training events.
Support Business Process Engineering initiatives.
Maintain and improve system availability, performance and functionality.
Be available after hours to provide emergency support - as needed.
Gather and document functional requirements from user representatives to build solutions.
Develop documentation of functional/technical design specifications
Configure Project Server to support the requirements and design of proposed tools/sites.
Produce and maintain documentation for Project Server systems and solutions.
Champion technical governance and guidelines for Project Server online tools and create/maintain processes related to those guidelines.
Take responsibility for the quality of their work.
Participate in planning, execution, and testing of tasks related to the evaluation of Project Server tools, version upgrades, 3rd party solutions, and integration with other applications.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree, or at least four (4) years of related experience.
The candidate must possess or be qualified for a Public Trust – High Security Clearance.
US Citizenship is required.
Other Position requirements:
Microsoft Certified Professional for Project Server 2010 or 2013 strongly desired.
Experience building SQL Reporting Services reports.
PMP or other Project Management Certification
Familiarity / experience with 3rd Party add-on Project Server tools.
