Cloud Engineer Position Description

S2Technologies is currently sourcing for qualified candidates to join our team. We are currently looking for candidates having training and experience performing as a Cloud Engineer. The Cloud Engineer is responsible for any technological duties associated with cloud computing, including design, planning, management, maintenance and support. The Cloud Engineer must demonstrate a strong team working mentality in an integrated team environment and must be able to work independently.
The primary responsibilities include analyzing vulnerability scans, and writing, integrating, and deploying Ansible code to remediate discovered issues. The Cloud Engineer must have experience with testing and evaluation of Cloud or virtualization components. Experience implementing and designing in a cloud environment is highly desired. The qualified candidate shall perform the following tasks:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Interact with other engineers on the Dev Tools and Automation team, software developers, test engineers, and release managers.
Work with the development, infrastructure, release management and program management teams to define security best practices.
Maintaining functional understanding of security best practices in a fluid multi-cloud environment · Maintaining understanding of technological advances to optimize security posture within the team.
Introduce emerging technologies and provide recommendations for solutions and best practices to decision makers.
Analyzes and assesses vulnerabilities in the infrastructure (software, hardware, networks), utilizes industry tools and countermeasures to remedy the detected vulnerabilities.
Create and apply automated security remediations to infrastructure (software, hardware, networks) in a timely fashion.
Ability to work with a small team locally, including remote team members.
Ability to work under pressure.
Experience with vulnerability scanning tools.
Experience with scripting language such as BASH or Powershell.
Experience with Ansible.
Experience with Cloud or virtualization (AWS, VMWare, Hyper-V/Azure).
Experience with Testing and Evaluation of Cloud or virtualization components.
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server.
Experience with Ubuntu, CentOS, or RHEL.
Experience with Hardware Implementation and Design.
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or related STEM field.
Currently holding or be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ within 3 months of hire.
Candidates must have or be able to obtain and keep a Secret Clearance.
Other Position requirements:
Hybrid on site/remote work schedule with 2-3 days Telework per week, subject to change based on needs of the customer.
